5 landing spots for Mike Gesicki in 2022 NFL free agency

Mike Gesicki can become Mike McDaniel’s version of George Kittle if he stays put
Frankly, it is going to be very difficult for Gesicki to leave Miami. Yes, the Dolphins organization has done very little to put out one grease fire after another under Stephen Ross’ watch, but there are three things in his favor towards re-upping with them: He is a prime franchise tag candidate, they have the most amount of cap space and new head coach Mike McDaniel is a very interesting hire.
Miami could slap Gesicki with the franchise tag and nobody would be shocked. He has earned a bump in pay, but it remains to be seen if he is a long-term solution at tight end in Miami. Not only that, but nobody has more available cap space than Miami this offseason at roughly $62 million. The other big thing at play here is McDaniel, who coached somebody by the name of George Kittle.
Though McDaniel was more of a running game-based offensive coordinator with the San Francisco 49ers, Kittle had long been a featured weapon in the team’s aerial attack under Kyle Shanahan. If Tagovailoa can evolve into a left-handed Jimmy Garoppolo, then Gesicki could emerge as Miami’s version of Kittle. For at least one year, it would be cool to see if this thing could happen.
Gesicki may have many suitors in free agency, but Miami stands a fantastic chance at keeping him.
