Mitchell Trubisky rumors: Horrible match emerges for former Bears QB
Free agent Mitchell Trubisky is looking for a new home and now the New York Giants have emerged as a potential landing spot.
Haven’t New York Giants fans suffered enough at the quarterback position? Things simply have not worked out with first-round pick Daniel Jones. His inconsistent play, coupled with a season-ending neck injury last year, has been frustrating to see.
So, the answer to the signal-caller issues for New York is first-round pick bust Mitchell Trubisky? Trubisky has been linked with a potential move to East Rutherford and Giants fan aren’t happy about this whatsoever.
The Giants signing Mitchell Trubisky would send fans into a meltdown
Interestingly enough, Trubisky is reportedly also being looked at by the Pittsburgh Steelers to replace future Hall-of-fame QB Ben Roethlisberger. Steelers supporters aren’t too excited about that idea either.
Trubisky was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears, but he never lived up to the hype. He made his way to the Buffalo Bills last year to serve as Josh Allen’s backup. Trubisky has battled issues with his consistency as well, which is why people in New York and New Jersey don’t understand why the Giants front office would be interested in him.
Jones is expected to be fully healthy for the start of the 2022 campaign. The team has put all of its faith in him, making it more than clear that he’s the starter for the NFC East side moving forward.
He’ll need to have a big year to try and get some of his haters off his back. Should the Giants sign Trubisky, he’d come in as a No. 2, but his number could get called if Jones struggles. This potential move will be something to watch later this month.
