With the Jacksonville Jaguars signing Christian Kirk to a monster deal, it only complicated life for Brian Gutekunst and the Green Bay Packers.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have basically broken the internet on Monday, as the team agreed to a monster four-year deal with Christian Kirk. Per multiple reports, that contract will be worth right around $68 million.

That’s an unreal amount of money and NFL fans are blasting Jacksonville left and right for overpaying. For Brian Gutekunst and the Green Bay Packers, this only makes their efforts in trying to make star wideout Davante Adams happy more difficult.

Davante Adams is going to want an insane amount of money after seeing Christian Kirk’s deal

Adams is arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL. If Kirk is getting a contract worth $17 million a season on average, then Adams is going to have to be paid way more than that. Not only is Adams a total beast, but he and Aaron Rodgers are incredibly close. If you take Adams away from the Green Bay offense, there’s no way the Packers will be in the Super Bowl conversation.

With Adams reportedly telling the team he won’t be playing on the franchise tag too, this means it’s time for Gutekunst and the Green Bay front office to pony up and pay him the kind of money Adams knows he deserves.

Adams has earned First-Team All-Pro honors in back-to-back seasons, while recording 1,000-yard campaigns in three of the last four years. He’s also posted double-digit touchdowns in five of the last six seasons. What else does he need to do to land a major payday from the Packers?

Green Bay needs to figure this out as soon as possible. This Kirk deal with the Jaguars didn’t just boost up Adams’ price, but it also adds to the urgency of things as well.
