Now that Tom Brady is coming out of his short-lived retirement, it is paying off big time with Ryan Jensen agreeing to a three-year deal in his free agency to stay with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Tom Brady unretiring means more free agents like Ryan Jensen will want to re-up with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Pro Bowl center is coming back to Tampa Bay on a three-year deal worth $39 million, $29 million guaranteed. Jensen was initially drafted by the Baltimore Ravens out of college, but first came aboard the rocking ship in Tampa in his free agency four years ago. The latter half of his Buccaneers contract coincided with the arrival of Brady in Tampa. Jensen’s play greatly improved.

While the Buccaneers are not going to be able to run it back entirely again, expect for many of their top free agents to want to stick around for another year or so with Brady now back in the fold.

Tom Brady unretiring has players like Ryan Jensen wanting to stay in Tampa Bay

The effect Brady has on an NFL franchise is simply undeniable at this point. What were the Buccaneers prior to his arrival on the Florida Gulf Coast in 2020? A mediocre football team that could not sniff the NFC playoffs because of substandard quarterback play. With him staying put for at least one more year, the Buccaneers resurface as the overwhelming favorite to win the division.

Ultimately, for as long as Brady chooses to play for the Buccaneers, Tampa Bay will remain Super Bowl viable. While there are no guarantees that the Buccaneers will ever win another playoff game with him under center, Tampa Bay should remain a top-seven team in the NFC for this upcoming season. With guys like Jensen being all-in on Brady, this is so huge for the Buccaneers.

Players who thought about leaving Tampa Bay in NFL free agency may not have second thoughts.
