Tom Wilson and Brendan Smith dropped the gloves during Monday night’s Washington Capitals-Carolina Hurricanes game.
Monday night did not go the way that the Washington Capitals had hoped, as their two-game winning streak came to an end thanks to the Carolina Hurricanes. In that very game, the Hurricanes walked into Capital One Arena and left with a 6-1 lead.
But late in the game, Capitals enforcer Tom Wilson dropped the gloves with Hurricanes defenseman Brendan Smith. In terms of who won, take a look for yourself.

As the commentators in the above video mentioned, Smith suffered a fractured skull when he attempted to block a shot during a Feb. 20 game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. He went to a local hospital for evaluation, where he was eventually released, per the team’s public relations Twitter account.
Smith missed nearly a month, as he made his return from the injury during the team’s March 17 game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
In regards to the game on Monday night, Martin Necas led the team with two goals on the night, along with an assist. Derek Stepan, Sebastian Aho, Brett Pesce and Brady Skjei accounted for Carolina’s other four goals.
Wilson scored Washington’s only goal on the night.
