All rumors indicate that Cody Rhodes will be at WrestleMania 38 and has already signed with WWE, but will he be on the pre-PPV Raw in Pittsburgh?

WWE WrestleMania 38 takes place on Saturday, Apr. 2 and Sunday, Apr. 3, live from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. While there are plenty of huge matches scheduled for the show, WWE and wrestling fans as a whole are wondering what is the latest with Cody Rhodes.

Earlier this year, Rhodes announced his departure from AEW following a couple years as an executive vice president. From there, reports noted that Rhodes return to WWE was bound to happen in the very near future. The question is, will he debut on the final episode of Monday Night Raw on March 28? Or will he show up at WrestleMania this weekend?

WWE rumors: Will Cody Rhodes debut at Raw or WrestleMania 38?

According to Fightful Select (subscription required), Rhodes is “not on the internal script as appearing” on Raw in Pittsburgh, Penn. on Monday.  However, Fightful said they learned that Rhodes was scheduled to fly into Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky on Monday, which is around a five-hour drive to the site of Raw.

Rhodes has been linked to a match with Seth Rollins for his return at the “Grandest Stage of Them All.”  For the past month, Rollins has been frantically trying to find a way onto the WrestleMania 38 card. He failed to win the Raw Tag Team Championships with Kevin Owens, lost a match to Owens for the right to host “Stone Cold” Steve Austin on a talk show at WrestleMania, and was defeated via disqualification by AJ Styles with the winner earning a match against Edge in Texas. When the latter happened on March 21, Rollins destroyed the ringside area, threatening that Raw will not happen on March 28 if he does not have a match at WrestleMania.

Well, Rollins revealed in a screenshot that Vince McMahon “texted” him over the weekend, asking him to come to his office for a meeting on Monday morning. WWE filmed the segment of Rollins showing up to WWE headquarters, with McMahon revealing that all he had to do was ask for a match at WrestleMania, and he would get one. Rollins was ecstatic but asked who his opponent would be. McMahon said that he will personally pick his opponent, and he will find out at WrestleMania.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer tweeted out that if Rhodes is set to appear at WrestleMania, it will be kept as “a surprise” until Rollins is standing in the ring.

WWE officially announced that Rollins’ match with a “mystery opponent” is scheduled for the Saturday, April 2 show.

Based on the segment, the report from Fightful Select and the tweet from Meltzer, Rhodes will not be appearing on the March 28 episode of Raw. In all likelihood, he will appear at WrestleMania to make his return, much like Matt and Jeff Hardy did at WrestleMania 33 in 2017.
