Louisville-UNC baseball game postponed after bomb threat at Jim Patterson Stadium
A scary situation took place at Louisville on Sunday when the baseball game between the Cardinals and visiting North Carolina was postponed due to a bomb threat.
The Louisville baseball game with UNC has been postponed after the school confirmed to ESPN there was a bomb threat at Jim Patterson Stadium.
ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported the game was postponed with UNC leading Louisville 5-1 in the top of the sixth when police approached the suite of the athletic director with the bomb threat news.
Bomb threat halts Louisville-North Carolina baseball game
UPDATE (4:50): The bomb squad didn’t find anything and the game will resume at 5:10 without fans and with only essential personnel. The total delay was just around two hours.
City and county police arrived on the scene.
According to Louisville Report, the Jefferson County sheriff’s office was informed of a bomb threat discovered in an online chat, was called into 911 and the game was suspended.
Both teams and the roughly 2,000 fans in Jim Patterson Stadium were cleared.
It’s unclear if the game will resume play.
