Dallas Cowboys Mock Draft – Fourth Round

Wisconsin. Logan Bruss. 129. player. Scouting Report. OG. 123. Pick Analysis

This pick is another investment into the offensive line for the Cowboys, who also are looking to find a potential starter at left guard after Connor Williams left in free agency. Dallas could look to add a guy like Zion Johnson to fill that need in the first round but waiting until the fourth to grab Logan Bruss is a better value play.

NFL teams love to take offensive linemen from Big Ten schools and Wisconsin has become a popular program among scouts looking for help in that department. Bruss held his own as a three-year starter for the Badgers and is already in position to thrive in any run-blocking scheme that an NFL coaching staff can throw at him.

The question with Bruss is in pass protection, where he still needs some work on technique, and explains why he isn’t projected to go earlier in the draft. The good news for the Cowboys is that they do have a solid alternative in-house with Connor McGovern if Bruss can’t seize the left guard job by Week 1.

Adding a developmental guard like Bruss also makes sense since Martin is now 32 years old and nearing the end of his prime. Bruss gives Dallas a chance to begin retooling their offensive line, which has been a strength of the team for years, by potentially teaming with Penning to become the building blocks of the unit’s next generation.
