4. Kutter Crawford

Crawford is the number 25 prospect in the Boston Red Sox system. In three games, he is 1-1 on the season in 2.1 innings. He has eight hits, one walk and he’s given up three earned runs. He has four strikeouts. He has a 30.2 percent CSW.

Unfortunately, his ERA is a whopping 15.75.

He relies on a cutter, a four-seam fastball, a curveball and a changeup. The cutter averages 88.8 mph with a 28.8-inch vertical drop and an active spin of 40 percent. The fastball averages 95.1 mph with a 10.9-inch vertical drop and an active spin of 100%. The curveball averages 79.3 mph with a 57.6-inch vertical drop.  The change-up averages 85.4 mph with a 29.3-inch vertical drop.

Crawford is a top prospect in the Sox organization so, after a rough outing in the majors, the Sox will want to get him back in the minor leagues to work on getting innings and perfect his pitches while determining how they will want to use him going forward.
