4 offseason moves the St. Louis Cardinals already regret
Ryan Tepera
Rumors during the offseason suggested the Cardinals would sign Tepera post-lockout. That did not happen. Instead, Tepera signed a two-year deal worth $14 million with the Lost Angeles Angels.
He’s pitched seven innings in five games. He has one walk, three holds, and eight strikeouts. That’s a 33.3% K-rate, a 4.2% BB rate, and a 32.3% CSW. That would be nice to have in the bullpen. Unfortunately, he has given up a couple of home runs. That can happen in a season that includes a shortened spring training.
After so much talk of him being a target of the Cardinals, it’s curious that they didn’t end up signing him to a short-term deal.
