1. Jacoby Brissett will start more games than Deshaun Watson this season

While Deshaun Watson is the future of the Browns’ quarterbacking room, Jacoby Brissett is now. Because Watson will inevitably be suspended by the NFL for the better part of the year, Brissett will indisputably start more games under center for the Browns than Watson this season. He may only edge him out with a final score of 9-8 or 10-7, but Brissett will play in the bulk of the games.

To be frank, this is the biggest reason why it is not safe to pencil the Browns into the AFC playoff mix. Could they get in if Brissett balls out? Definitely, but keep in mind how great the AFC is at quarterback. Brissett should know, as that is the only thing he knows. The good news is all eyes will be on him this season like they were at times when he played for those Indianapolis Colts.

Eventually, Watson will return to grab the reins from Brissett, and that will be all she wrote. In the meantime, Brissett can put out a ton of good tape to remain not only one of the better backups in the league, but a possible bridge starter if the right opportunity presents itself. All the while, keep an eye on Brissett becoming the next great up-and-coming future NFL head-coaching candidate.

If Brissett can keep the Browns afloat, then maybe Watson can carry them into the Super Bowl?
