Thomas Parsons

Thomas has pitched 17.2 innings over 10 games for the AAA Memphis Redbirds. He has a 2-0 record with a 6.62 ERA. He has 13 strikeouts in that time frame. He’s given up eight walks, and 13 earned runs including six home runs.

After coasting through several levels of the Cardinals organization in 2019, he’s spent the last three in Memphis. It’s surprising Cardinals fans haven’t seen Parsons appear with St. Louis. It seems he could have helped during last season’s terrible time with pitching. He hasn’t been moved to the Cardinals’ 40-man roster and the 26-year-old is Rule 5 draft-eligible.

If the Cardinals are not going to use Parsons, it would be interesting to see the team attempt to move him, possibly in a package for a significant get. If that’s not possible, flipping him for depth or pitching needs could be good.
