7. Best games on the 2022 NFL Schedule – Cincinnati Bengals at Dallas Cowboys

The NFC hierarchy has been pretty well-established since Tom Brady unretired with the Rams, Packers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers jockeying for supremacy. The team right below that group is the Dallas Cowboys, who have had a very interesting offseason as they look to break through to a Super Bowl for the first time since the mid-90s.

Salary cap concerns forced the Cowboys to trade away Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns and cut right tackle La’el Collins, who wound up signing with the Bengals. The changes do raise questions about the ceiling of this Dallas roster and some of those can be answered when they welcome the defending AFC Champions to AT&T Stadium in 2022.

The Collins angle adds some juice to this game as well since Collins will be motivated to prove that the Cowboys made a mistake by cutting him. This is also a classic measuring stick game for Dallas as well since a good showing against the Bengals will offer faith that they can compete with the top teams in the NFC.

This game also has value for Cincinnati as well as a road test for Burrow in a scenario where they are the hunted as opposed to the hunters that they were at the end of the 2021 campaign. Few teams will be taken by surprise by the Bengals anymore so finding a way to win a tough road game in this spot will show us a lot about the staying power of Cincinnati.
