3. Figure out a replacement for Danny Green

Danny Green suffered a devastating knee injury in the season-ending loss to the Miami Heat. He tore his ACL and LCL in his knee, and it’s not likely he starts the season with the Sixers. The veteran forward is an important part of this team’s rotation, and it’s going to hurt trying to replace him. The 76ers don’t really have a lot of cap space to work with, and they really could use some changes.

Green isn’t out for the entire season, but he’s going to miss some time. In fact, he might not be back until well into the second half of the year. Green isn’t exactly the player he was five years ago, but he still plays a role that’s important for the Sixers. Having a veteran who can start at a moment’s notice is something the Sixers need.

Can the Sixers find a temporary replacement for that in the offseason? There are very, very few forwards on the free agency market this offseason. We’re talking about bringing in someone like Trevor Ariza, Otto Porter, or Andre Iguodala to replace Green. All three of those players might retire.

There are some interesting forward options that might be willing to take said role, but they won’t be very good. Maybe taking a shot on a Kevin Knox makes sense since there will be a suitable replacement coming back before the playoffs. It’s not an ideal situation, but the options are extremely limited for the 76ers. They could shop the trade market, but the price might be something that scares them away.
