1. Kenny Pickett — Pittsburgh Steelers

Kenny Pickett was the lone first-round quarterback in this year’s draft, something that seems hard to believe in this quarterback-driven NFL. Pickett only has Mitch Trubisky ahead of him on the depth chart, who was a backup last year for Buffalo. The fact that the Steelers had their pick of this year’s quarterbacks and chose Pickett tells me that they’re obviously high on him.

Pickett, in my opinion, is the likely starter for the Steelers. If and when he does start, he joins a loaded offense featuring Najee Harris, Diontae Johnson, Chase Claypool, Pat Freiermuth, and fellow rookies George Pickens and Calvin Austin.

Pickett has top-15 upside as the Steelers’ starter, and should be a late-round target for fantasy managers who chose to wait on drafting a quarterback. We saw how starved Pittsburgh’s offense was for good quarterback play last season, and Pickett is an instant upgrade for everyone involved.

Pickett can produce QB1 numbers immediately, due to the talented offense around him. He’s also the quarterback with the best chance to start right away, giving him a leg up on everyone else fantasy-wise.
