Toronto Blue Jays

With the Yankees, they should always be wary of their division rivals. One team that could very well pose as a threat to them stealing Judge away from them are the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Blue Jays have made some huge moves recently. They signed outfielder George Springer to a six-year, $150 million contract in 2021. At the trade deadline, they acquired pitcher Jose Berrios from the Minnesota Twins and signed him to a seven-year, $131 million deal this offseason. Then, they pulled off a trade with the Oakland Athletics for third baseman Matt Chapman.

Toronto obviously has a young team corps consisting of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette, both of whom are not set to hit free agency until after the 2025 season. That gives the team some extra spending room to bring in another star.

Come on, you know the Blue Jays would love to stick it to the Yankees by signing Judge if he were to hit free agency.

New York Mets

This is not the same old New York Mets. The team is now owned by Steve Cohen, a Mets fan and billionaire who is determined to bring the team their first World Series title since 1986.

The Mets under Cohen have shown that they are willing to go all-in to build a contender. New York brought in Francisco Lindor in 2020 and made him one of the highest paid shortstops in the game. This offseason, they signed Max Scherzer to a three-year, $130 million contract and outfielder Starling Marte to a four-year, $78 million deal. Not to mention that they acquired Chris Bassit from theOakland Athletics this offseason as well.

If Judge were to hit free agency, you just cannot count out Cohen’s Mets. If they don’t land Judge, they can pivot to Juan Soto of the Washington Nationals.
