MLB rumors: 5 favorites to trade for Frankie Montas

Frankie Montas trade rumors: Minnesota Twins

With the pitchers on the 60-day injured list and another on the 10-day injured list, the Twins will likely need another pitcher to maintain their first-place hold on the AL Central.

Joe Ryan and Sonny Gray lead the pitching staff and are backed up by Dylan Bundy, Chris Archer, Josh Winder, and Devin Smeltzer. While Bailey Ober is only on the 10-day injured list and should be back soon, it’s unclear when Kenta Maeda and Randy Dobnak will be ready. Chris Paddack was placed on the 60-day IL.

Pitching is needed by teams around the league and the Twins are no exception.

After moves the Twins completed to get Carlos Correa, Gary Sanchez, and Gio Urshela to join Byron Buxton and Max Kepler, the club should be willing to make moves to take this step to improve their pitching needs in order to secure the AL Central and more.

Don’t be surprised to see the Twins make another move and it involve Montas.
