Draymond Green’s wife called out NSFW chants directed at Warriors players from Celtics fans in Game 3. Was it really over the line?

Green’s wife, Hazel Renée, wasn’t a fan of the Celtics chanting f-bombs at Warriors players during Game 3. While Boston fans are notoriously reckless, this is far from the worst thing we’ve seen from NBA supporters this season.

Have fans gone over the line in their return to the stands in most sports? Sure, absolutely. But Boston sports fans berating the Dubs in a Game 3 defeat feels like a deflection. An excuse, if you will.

“Tough loss tonight but in no way, shape or form should fans be allowed to chant obscenities at players! Are they not human? Is someone standing at your job saying off the wall things to you?…” Hazel Renee wrote.

Warriors: Draymond Green took no issue with Celtics fans

As for Draymond himself, he didn’t seem to care about the chants from Celtics fans. Klay Thompson and Steve Kerr brought the chants up in their respective press conferences, but Green instead had some odd amount of respect for it.

“I embrace it. I enjoy it,” Green said. “I didn’t really feed off of it tonight. I don’t think I fed off much tonight. But yeah, that’s something that I enjoy. Waste a lot of energy talking to me, so it’s great. It’s great. Looking forward to Friday.”

Instead, Green was focused on his own performance. Draymond nearly had more fouls than points. He realized he needs to play better for the Warriors to win this series.

C’s fans are merely a footnote in the series so far, but it wouldn’t be an NBA Finals series in 2022 without a social media feud.
