1. The Portland Trail Blazers move on to Plan C

The Portland Trail Blazers are obviously looking to turn the No. 7 pick into a win-now player who can help them maximize what’s left of Damian Lillard’s prime. Rumors are that they’re heavily interested in both OG Anunoby and Jerami Grant but there is a strong possibility that neither player is available and they have to look for other options.

Turner would be a great replacement for Jusuf Nurkic, whose expiring contract would be key to creating cap space here. Turner could anchor a defense that has been underwhelming for years and his pick-and-pop game would make him an excellent pick-and-roll partner for Lillard. In addition, picking up Hield is a solid use of their remaining cap space, giving them another reliable outside shooter and secondary creator to make things easier on Lillard.

In exchange for two veterans, the Pacers pick up the No. 7 pick which, with No. 6, gives them the opportunity to add a pair of rookies who could complement each other, or simply balance a trade-off of present and future value. In addition, they get Greg Brown III and Keon Johnson two 20-year-old second-year players, who have upside but still look far to raw to have much value to the Blazers right now.
