Scouting Report. CB. 1. player. Pick Analysis. Green Bay Packers. Eric Stokes. 49

Look for Eric Stokes to push towards a Pro Bowl campaign in his second season

One of the best ways for the Packers to stay dominant in the NFC is to really lean on its defense. For the most part, they have drafted well of late on that side of the ball. Giving Aaron Rodgers a good to great defense will go a long way towards the Packers winning multiple playoff games en route to potentially a Super Bowl run. This means Eric Stokes needs to become a superstar.

Green Bay drafted the talented cornerback out of Georgia late in the first round in 2021. Stokes may have played with a ton of great players in Athens, but he certainly had his moments in big spots for the Packers as a rookie last season. Ultimately, the Packers need to have Stokes challenge Jaire Alexander for being the best cornerback on the team. It will be iron sharpening iron.

By having a pair of elite cornerbacks, it will shrink the field for the Packers defense, allow other players all over the gridiron to make something magical happen. Should Green Bay have something akin to a top-quarter defense in the league, the Packers can absolutely contend for the Super Bowl out of the NFC. If Stokes takes that leap like we are all expecting, look out NFC North!

Great players make their biggest leaps professionally from their first to second years in the NFL.
