Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Green Bay Packers. Amari Rodgers. 2. player. 49. WR

One would think Amari Rodgers will have more than four catches in year two

With Davante Adams leaving for the Las Vegas Raiders in free agency, there will be plenty of balls to be had in the Packers’ passing game. One player who has to step up in a big way is second-year pro Amari Rodgers. Green Bay used a third-round pick on the former Clemson standout in the 2021 NFL Draft. While he contributed on special teams, Rodgers only had four catches as a rookie.

Simply put, Rodgers has to be a larger factor in the Green Bay receiving corps, one that not only lost Adams to the Silver and Black but No. 2 option Marquez Valdes-Scantling to the Kansas City Chiefs. Getting back a healthy Robert Tonyan at tight end will be a huge help, but the Packers must believe in the Rodgers-to-Rodgers connection if they are to do big things in January and February.

Ultimately, one would think Rodgers will break through this season. He played at a pro football factory in Clemson. Rodgers went to a well-run organization out of college. Plus, he does have NFL pedigree by way of his father in former Tennessee Volunteers star quarterback Tee Martin. The son of a coach should allow Rodgers to tap into all that potential he had coming out of Clemson.

Should Rodgers struggle to get open in his second year in the NFL, then the narrative will be out.
