Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Corey Kluber

Like Matt Wisler, Corey Kluber is a free agent at the end of the season so, despite being in the playoff hunt, the Rays could be motivated to move him for the right return.

The Red Sox rotation has suffered some injuries as Nathan Eovaldi and Garrett Whitlock are both on the IL and Rich Hill suffered a sprained knee on Friday, meaning that he could also head to the IL.

Kluber is a free agent after this season so with his success, the Rays could look to trade him to get a minor league prospect or two.

He has made 15 starts on the season and he has a 3.91 ERA (3.61 FIP). He also has a 1.158 WHIP, and he’s walking just 1.5 batters in comparison to 7.9 strikeouts per nine innings.

The two-time American League Cy Young Award winner isn’t as good as he used to be but Corey Kluber could definitely still be a good middle to back of the rotation starter for a contender like the Red Sox.
