Andrew Benintendi rumors: Blue Jays

The Blue Jays were connected to Benintendi as recently as this week thanks to Jon Morosi of MLB Network.

While the Jays likely aren’t catching the Yankees in the AL East, they’re still very much involved in the AL Wild Card race and hold the third and final spot in a battle with the Rays and Red Sox. Acquiring a bat like Benintendi would be a major addition to their lineup.

FanSided MLB insider Robert Murray also reported a few weeks back that Toronto was looking for a left-handed bat. Benintendi fits that description:

"“One more note on the Blue Jays: two rival executives believe that Toronto and the Kansas City Royals match up well in trade talks, with the Blue Jays potentially eyeing one of their left-handed bats.”"

I don’t want to say he called it, but…he called it.
