Miguel Cabrera and Albert Pujols will both get hits in the game

Both Detroit Tigers DH Miguel Cabrera and St. Louis Cardinals DH Albert Pujols were selected to the MLB All-Star Game as a “legacy” selection since both are in the twilight of their careers.

They said that truth is stranger than fiction. The game is being played in Hollywood, so why not have something that would be a storybook ending for them? Miguel Cabrera and Albert Pujols will both play in the game and both of them will get hits.

For Pujols, he has already announced that this year would be his final season so it would be a storybook ending for the 11-time All-Star who will make it into the Baseball Hall of Fame on the first ballot five years after he retires. For Cabrera, it will be one of his last All-Star Games, if not his last, so it would be a great ending for him too.

Fans will like the FOX MLB All-Star Game broadcast

For the first time since 2000, Joe Buck will not be the play-by-play broadcaster for the game on TV. Buck left FOX after the World Series to join ESPN for Monday Night Football.

FOX replaced him with Joe Davis. Davis has been the primary TV play-by-play broadcaster for the Dodgers since 2017 after Vin Scully retired. He is a familiar voice to fans, though, since he has done playoff broadcasts before.

He has broadcast playoff games on FOX/FS1 since 2017 and he has been their #2 voice since then. Primarily, he has done LDS games but he has filled in for Buck on LCS games as well. He has done NFL and MLB games for FOX/FS1 since 2014.

He is a lot less divisive than Joe Buck, meaning that fans should like the broadcast more. Davis’ analyst, John Smoltz, is a bit divisive but fans will like the broadcast more than before.
