Russell Wilson could get a contract next

After Murray and Jackson, Wilson could be next up, and it’ll likely be on friendlier terms.

The Broncos agreed to trade for Wilson this offseason with a new contract in mind. Denver hasn’t had much luck breeding franchise quarterbacks on their own, with Drew Lock and others falling by the wayside. So, they repeated history.

The last time the Broncos won the Super Bowl, they did so with longtime Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning at the helm.

This time (they hope), it’ll be the lifetime Seattle Seahawk Wilson.

Russ is due a new contract any day now, but he’s a patient man. His contract has one additional year on it, so theoretically he can wait until after the 2023 season. But why not get things done before then?

Per Mike Klis, Wilson is asking something in the neighborhood of five years an $250 million. That’s a high price tag, but something the veteran has earned, and will likely receive from the team which invested so many resources to get him in the first place.
