Kevin Durant roasts PR graduate trying to help him: ‘Beat it kid’
By Scott Rogust
A Twitter user claiming to be a major in public relations tried to give Kevin Durant some advice.
On June 30, just hours before the official start of free agency, Kevin Durant requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets. This was three years to the day that Durant made the decision to join the Nets back in the summer of 2019. Nearly a month later, he still remains with the team, as no trade has transpired.
As fans know, Durant is very active on Twitter. One user claiming to have majored in public relations tagged the two-time NBA Finals MVP asking him to fix some things. When Durant asked what they would do, the user listed out what he would need to do to “clean up these media narratives.”
After listening to the pitch, Durant responded with “beat it kid lol.”

As NHL great Wayne Gretzky once said “you miss 100-percent of the shots you don’t take.” This Twitter user took a chance.
At the time of Durant’s trade request, two teams jumped out as potential landing spots. Reports indicated that the Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat were preferred destinations for Durant. As of now, no trade has been accepted.
ESPN’s Brian Windhorst said recently that the Nets prefer to keep Durant, as they have not received an offer from interested teams that they like. That, and there has been no communication from Durant to the Nets and those around the league.
Durant is entering the first season of his four-year, $194.2 million contract extension with Brooklyn.
