3) Atlanta Braves

The Atlanta Braves are right on the precipice of overtaking the Mets for first place in the NL East but they have the same issue that they had before they made moves at the trade deadline last year: the outfield. Fortunately, for them, it’s not as big of an issue as it was last year since Ronald Acuña Jr. is healthy.

But Adam Duvall is out for the season and Marcell Ozuna (who has been an outfielder who’s primarily been a DH this season) has struggled at the plate. Also, Eddie Rosario hasn’t been good at the plate either.

With Laureano, Michael Harris II, Acuña Jr., and maybe even another outfielder, the Braves would have one of the best defensive outfield in the sport and they could cycle through with the DH (and, therefore, a half-day off, in essence). They would also be upgrading their offense.

4) Boston Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox are a team that might not even be “buyers” at the trade deadline, especially with their recent play but they have a massive need for outfield help. Laureano could still be a target with his controllability.

None of their outfielders have an OPS+ above 87 and center fielder Kiké Hernandez is on the 60-day IL. Overall, their outfielders are 27th in baseball in overall offensive production so even if it’s not for this year, Laureano would help their defense and offense in the outfield.

Next. The perfect trade candidate to replace Adam Duvall is a familiar face. dark
