2) St. Louis Cardinals

The St. Louis Cardinals have long been rumored to be a team that is searching for starting pitching. Their ace (Jack Flaherty) has only combined to pitch eight innings in the majors on the season. They have also only had four starters with at least 10 starts on the season. One of them (Dakota Hudson) was just activated off of the injured list on Saturday but Steven Matz is still on the IL.

Rodón has had his fair share of injury issues in the past but as his 20 starts show this season, he has been healthy and very good.

As Derrick Goold of The St. Louis Post-Dispatch notes, with Matz out, they haven’t had a lefty in the rotation consistently. The Cardinals are also looking for more strikeouts in their rotation and Rodón would certainly provide that.

For next season, they would also have a rotation of Flaherty, Rodón, Miles Mikolas, Dakota Hudson, and Steven Matz. That’s not even including Adam Wainwright, who could look to re-sign with the club this offseason.
