There’s no other team that knows Carlos Rodón better and they need some starting rotation help. Lucas Giolito has an ERA of 5.14 in 18 starts. Lance Lynn (who came in third in AL Cy Young Award voting in 2021) missed the first two months of the season and in nine starts, he has an ERA of 6.42.

As we mentioned, Rodón spent parts of seven seasons in the majors with the White Sox, including his best season in 2021. They would set themselves up well for the 2022 season as a rotation of Dylan Cease, Rodón, Michael Kopech, and rebounding versions of Lynn and Giolito. That also doesn’t include Johnny Cueto, who has been their second-best starter on the season.

Like the Cardinals and the Twins, the White Sox do not have a left-handed starter either. Their last left-handed starter was Dallas Keuchel earlier this season before the club DFA’d him. Keuchel has since moved on to Arizona and, now, in the minors with the Texas Rangers.

The White Sox are 50-50 on the season but despite that record, they are just three games back in the AL Central and 3.5 games back in the AL Wild Card picture.
