The Minnesota Twins

The Minnesota Twins were not a good team in 2021 but with the help of Carlos Correa and others, they are in first place in the American League Central. However, if they don’t address their starting rotation, they might not be in first place for long.

The Guardians are only one game back of them and the third-place White Sox are only two games back of them so the Twins must address their starting pitching.

In the month of July, their starters had an ERA of 6.49, which was third-worst in all of baseball in that span. They have had some injuries as well. They have to get someone but they really need two or three starters at this point.

The Boston Red Sox

Of all of the teams in baseball in July (and there are some really bad teams), the Boston Red Sox had the worst starting pitching. Their starters had a mind-boggling 7.09 ERA in the month. The second-worst team in the AL was the Twins, who’s ERA was a half-run better.

Like the Cardinals, the Red Sox have had a lot of injuries too, as they only have one starter with more than 15 starts (Nick Pivetta with 21 starts). They only have four pitchers with double-digits for starts … and two of them are on the injured list right now anyways.

For the Red Sox, it will hurt even more since they will have to face the Yankees in the division and Montas will be with them again next season. The Red Sox may have played their way out of the playoffs this year anyways but it will impact them for next year as well.
