The New York Yankees have acquired Frankie Montas from the Oakland A’s and there will be some teams that will regret not trading for him.

The New York Yankees pulled off a trade for, arguably, the best starting pitcher on the trade market in Frankie Montas.

For the A’s this season, Montas has made 19 starts with a 3.18 ERA and a 3.36 FIP. He also has a 118 ERA+, a 1.137 WHIP, and an average of 2.4 walks and 9.4 strikeouts per nine innings.

The Yankees knew that they had to address their rotation after Luis Severino suffered an injury and after the rotation faltered in July. Entering July, they had the second-best starter ERA in the sport at 3.05. In July, the Yankees rotation had a 4.38 ERA, which is 21st in baseball.

There are a few other teams that really need to address their starting rotation and they still have about 24 hours to do it, as the trade deadline is at 6 PM E.T. on Tuesday but even if they do, there will be plenty of teams that will regret not trading for Frankie Montas.

Here are the top three teams that will regret not trading for him.
