2. Atlanta Falcons would make Kareem Hunt a focal point on offense

Speaking of teams that don’t have much of an answer at running back and aren’t going to win many games, the Matt Ryan trade threw the Atlanta Falcons quickly into a transition period as they try to reshape the roster. They’ve made some good early starts in doing so but there’s a ways to go and there are questions that must be answered.

What isn’t in question, however, is that the franchise has drafted two high-end pass-catchers in the first round of the past two drafts with tight end Kyle Pitts and wide receiver Drake London. With that and a veteran quarterback in Marcus Mariota combined with rookie Desmond Ridder, there is some hope that the Falcons can show some flashes.

The problem that arises is that the run game could be downright awful as things currently stand. Cordarrelle Patterson is a gadget player more than a running back and the next best option is probably rookie Tyler Allgeier, who is a fine player, but is undeniably unproven as he enters the league.

If the Falcons want to add a new dimension of competency to the offense, than taking a swing for a player like Hunt would make a ton of sense. He can come in and handle the traditional running back duties that Patterson likely can’t while also putting Ridder and Mariota in more comfortable positions.
