Lou Hedley will have the AP talking out the side of its neck with his punt bombs

Will the AP forever regret not naming ageless Miami Hurricanes punter Lou Hedley to either one of its preseason All-American teams? Hedley might be pushing 30 years in age and 30 carefully-placed neck and throat tats, but No Ragerts sure ain’t one of them. But for real though, Miami should be outstanding on special teams with Hedley and kicker Andres Borregales this season.

If The U becomes The U again under new head coach Mario Cristobal, the Canes could be pushing for a New Year’s Six bowl. Instead, the AP decided to give players on teams who aren’t even going to bowl games a nod over the mighty Australian punter. Not to say this is akin to sleeping on the Punt God Matt Araiza at San Diego State, but we gotta put some respect on Hedley’s leg so badly.

If Marquette King and Pat McAfee can’t come back to win the Ray Guy, then Hedley will have to do.

The AP went off the deep end by not naming Bumper Pool an All-American hero

How are you gonna tell me the man who kicked James to the curb at age 16 isn’t good enough to be a preseason All-American? Bumper Pool is the name of a man who not only represents everything you would want out of an Arkansas football player, but it could also be the pseudonym Captain America uses when he checks into a hotel room when he’s out there saving the world on the road.

Arkansas should be one of the better teams in the SEC this year. If the Hogs are indeed the second-best team in the West to only Alabama, Pool and company will have a big say in that. The best way for a player to become a cult of personality is with a catchy name that matches his style of play. For those dipping their toes into the shallow end, dive head first and join the Bumper Pool party!

Not since Scooby Wright have we had an absolute … DAWG! quite like this playing linebacker, son.
