Yankees who won’t be on the Roster October 1: Yankees outfielder Miguel Andujar

The Yankees have experimented with Miguel Andujar time and time and time again. At least he has been relatively healthy this season for them as he has played in 96 games between the majors and minors, which is the most he has played in since 2018… but things have not worked out.

In 25 games in the majors (94 place appearances), Andujar has hit .244/.266/.300 with a 62 OPS+. Defensively, he has been much better this year than he has in recent years since he’s put up 4 Defensive Runs Saved (DRS) but it’s not enough to make up for his poor offensive numbers.

If the Yankees didn’t have a number of position players likely coming off the IL by then, some players will have to go and Andujar will likely be one of them. Anthony Rizzo will likely be activated this weekend or early next week.
