3) Braves will win the World Series because unlikely players will step up

Austin Riley might be a favorite to lead this team to victory, but who would have thought that last year we’d see Jorge Soler as the World Series MVP? This year’s team could very easily have a big hit from Robbie Grossman or another unlikely hero.

The Braves are a team with superstars on the roster. They also have room for others to thrive and shine.

Dansby Swanson is one of the few players who never did get a big contract extension. If he feels he has something to prove, maybe it’s him who carries over his impressive regular season performance into the playoffs.

Let’s also not rule out Vaughn Grissom doing the same. It would be an absolute mistake to believe William Contreras is not one of the best hitters on this ball club.

Atlanta’s roster might not match up well against the all-time great clubs. Those hypothetical comparisons won’t matter in reality when they’re going toe-to-toe with others in 2022.

The Braves have so many guys that do so much and so well that we can’t even rule out Jake Odorrizi winning the NLCS MVP because of his masterful relief appearances. Anything seems possible for this Braves squad that began the season so slowly and then ripped through their opponents for months.
