3. Michael Gallup will return and catch a touchdown

There was a thought that Gallup might be able to return from his knee injury in time to play against the Giants, but Dallas elected to hold him out to give him one more week to recover. There might be a temptation to hold him out until Prescott is ready to return, but the truth is that his vertical spacing can really help Dallas win this week.

He may not start the game or get a ton of snaps, but Mike McCarthy and his staff are going to make sure he’s a part of the game plan when he is out on the field. That means Gallup will run a lot of vertical go routes to really threaten Washington’s vulnerable group of safeties.

The weakness of the Commanders’ secondary will be highlighted when they try to leave any of their corners on an island against either Gallup or CeeDee Lamb. Washington will do their best to double cover Lamb after his eight-catch, 87-yard output against New York.

That’s going to leave Gallup some big opportunities to turn his elite speed into big gains for the Dallas offense. If Rush can put one of those throws on the money then Gallup will find his way into the end zone. Expect that to happen at least once to provide the Cowboys’ offense with a big play it will need to secure the victory.
