Blue Jays announcers roast fan who missed Aaron Judge home run ball (Video)

A couple of Blue Jays fans were close to catching Aaron Judge’s 61st home run, but just missed out. Their own announcers came at said fans with a vengeance.
Want a home run ball? Bring a net, it’s that simple.
These days, a simple glove doesn’t always guarantee a piece of history. Judge blasted his 61st home run into the Toronto night on Wednesday, tying Roger Maris for the all-time single season American League mark. To some, it’s considered the MLB record, but we won’t get too involved in that discussion here.
Typically, if said home run is caught by a fan, the team will negotiate its release via an exchange of autographed memorabilia. If that doesn’t work, the fan will take the ball home and perhaps sell it for an ungodly amount of money.
That ungodly amount of money was within reach for at least one Jays fan who was featured — and hilariously ridiculed — on the Sportsnet broadcast.
Blue Jays fans come painfully close to catching Aaron Judge home run
The surrender cobra was in full effect on Wednesday night, and it wasn’t because the Blue Jays were losing.
Bullpen coach Matt Buschmann caught the home run ball and quickly stored it. He then gave it to Yankees reliever Zack Britton, who passed it along to Judge, who gave it to his mother. One can presume it’s been authenticated by now.
While No. 61 would’ve been nice, if Judge hits No. 62 on the road, perhaps that group of fans will have luck on their side.
