Third, the Braves made the right call with the Matt Olson trade

Think back to the offseason when the Braves made a trade with the Oakland A’s to acquire Matt Olson. At the time, the Freddie Freeman drama was still at a high point and Braves fans wondered if their team had made the right call by inking Olson and moving on from Freeman.

In the series against the Mets, Olson reminded those same fans just how valuable of an acquisition he was.

Over the course of his last seven games, Olson is slashing .435/.517/1.130 with five home runs and 10 RBI. That includes the home runs in each of the games against the Mets, a historical feat we mentioned alongside Swanson in the last slide.

Against the Mets, Olson also topped 100 RBI for the season, and continues to lead the Braves in that department while his 33 home runs trail only Austin Riley in that department.

There is little doubt what Olson has meant to the Braves in his first season with the club, and that was emphasized with a stellar showing against the Mets.
