There is a chance Virginia was the last win of Scott Satterfield era in Louisville

The combination of a road win at Virginia and Louisville being on a bye last week has extended Scott Satterfield’s stay at least until the end of the month. Unfortunately, Louisville may not win another game for the rest of the year, as the Cardinals have a beyond brutal remaining schedule with Pittsburgh, Wake Forest, James Madison, at Clemson, North Carolina State and at Kentucky.

With Jeff Brohm doing his thing over in West Lafayette, we have to wonder if the former Cardinals quarterback is coming home to save the day. Then again, he has built Purdue up into something solid in the Big Ten West. It is not as high-pressure of a job as say Louisville is. Even if Brohm does not want it, Satterfield may still need to go. This would be a good landing spot for Deion Sanders.

Louisville has too proud of an athletics history to be this painfully pedestrian on the football field.

Just rip the band-aid off and fire Bryan Harsin with some dignity left, Auburn

The fact it has not happened yet is about one thing and one thing only: Who on Bryan Harsin’s Auburn staff is equipped to serve as the interim the rest of the way? Auburn has lost three games in a row in SEC play. If not for Missouri shooting itself in the foot, these Tigers would be riding a five-game losing streak dating back to the Penn State blowout loss at home over a month ago.

Although Georgia and Ole Miss may be the two best teams the Tigers play this year, they still have games against Arkansas, Mississippi State, Texas A&M and Alabama in SEC play. All four schools have been ranked at various points throughout the season. Harsin may be able to guide Auburn to victory in one of those conference games, but even with a Western Kentucky win, they will be 5-7.

Expect Matt Rhule, Deion Sanders and even Urban Meyer to be on a shortlist of replacements.
