The Packers dropped below .500 as Taylor Heinecke and the Commanders brought Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay to a new low point.
Something is very wrong with the Green Bay Packers.
If you had said GB would be 3-4 to start the 2022 season, it only would have felt real if the Packers had let Aaron Rodgers go amidst all the drama.
Instead, they got him to stay, paid him a bucket load of money and ended up with a losing record after seven games.
Sunday’s game was supposed to be a bounce back effort against the lowly Washington Commanders. It was anything but as Taylor Heinecke led Washington to an unexpected victory.
Twitter let the Packers have it.

The Packers have told you who they are. A 3-4 team that’s lucky to have 3 wins.

As @AndyHermanNFL said last week: the incredible irony of the only player opposing teams fear being the one who doesn’t touch the ball enough is the 2022 Packers in a nutshell. https://t.co/ZxWQMa0BJH
When I’m mad at the packers, that does not include Aaron Jones. Dude puts his heart & soul into the game.

The Packers failed to convert a single third down for the first time since Week 6 of 1999 (Brett Favre vs. Denver), per @ESPNStatsInfo

Vikings have the week off but still manage to win thanks to the Commanders.

A quarterback matchup between Rodgers and Heinecke should always favor the former. However, in this case, the Packers offense has things all backwards. Instead of leaning on their running game with Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon, Green Bay continued to ride their uninspiring passing attack.
Packers are being held hostage by their quarterback. Best part? They paid for the privilege of being so. https://t.co/IPN7QIcY1U

The worst pass made on the Packers' desperation hook and ladder was by Aaron Rodgers...

Aaron Rodgers is due almost $60 million guaranteed if he plays football next season.

The Packers can’t be feeling 100% great about potentially having to write that check.
The Packers put Rodgers in a spot where he was going to have to play near perfect on just about every snap.

He hasn't done so. And based on what I'm seeing on this app, most people are more than happy to blame him for not living up to those unreasonable expectations.
Where do Rodgers and his team go from here? A trip to Buffalo next week doesn’t sound like the best opportunity to get back above .500. It may take a Herculean effort from Rodgers to outscore Josh Allen and company.
Truthfully, if Green Bay can lose to Washington, there are no games remaining on the schedule that look particularly safe. Teams like the Lions may be struggling but they could catch Green Bay the way they’re playing right now.

After last week’s loss to the Jets, Rodgers spoke about simplifying things across the board. Clearly, whatever adjustments were made ahead of Sunday’s game weren’t enough.
It’s time to go back to the drawing board, again.
