Heisman Trophy Power Rankings: Bo Nix trying to crash C.J. Stroud, Hendon Hooker’s party
By Scott Rogust
The Michigan Wolverines did not play this week, as they were designated a bye week. Given that, star running back Blake Corum maintains his No. 4 position on the Heisman rankings.
Last week, Corum ran for 166 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries in the team’s 41-17 win over the Penn State Nittany Lions.
On the year, Corum has recorded 901 yards and 13 touchdowns on 146 carries.
Corum and the Wolverines look to continue their undefeated season when they return in Week 9 to take on the Michigan State Spartans. This is the same Spartans team that was blown out by fellow unbeaten team in the Big Ten…the Ohio State Buckeyes.
While Hendon Hooker and the Tennessee Volunteers got the win over Alabama, Bryce Young’s performance could not be overlooked. In his first game back from a shoulder injury, he kept Alabama alive in a thrilling bout with Tennessee.
Young had a chance to get the Crimson Tide back into the win column, as they hosted the No. 24 Mississippi State Bulldogs.
In the team’s 30-6 win over Mississippi State, Young completed 21-of-35 pass attempts for 249 yards and two touchdowns. He was removed from the game in the fourth quarter when the result was essentially etched in stone.
Young and the Crimson Tide now go into a bye week, where they will get themselves prepared to take on an LSU Tigers team that handed the No. 7 Ole Miss Rebels their first loss of the season.
