Pro: He’s the best option available not on the trade market

In the lead-up to the NFL trade deadline, there have been two wide receivers traded to new teams.

Robbie Anderson was dealt from the Carolina Panthers to the Arizona Cardinals the day after Week 6. Then on Thursday, Oct. 27, the Kansas City Chiefs acquired Kadarius Toney from the New York Giants.

There are other names that have been reported as trade targets, such as Brandin Cooks of the Houston Texans, Chase Claypool of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Nelson Agholor of the New England Patriots, and Jerry Jeudy of the Denver Broncos. But when it comes to these players, interested teams will have to surrender draft capital to acquire them.

For Beckham, teams do not have to part ways with draft picks to acquire him. All they have to do is talk with him, negotiate a deal, and sign him as a free agent.

He is the best option in free agency by leaps and bounds. Yet, there is another risk.
