2023 NFL Mock Draft: Could QBs go 1-2-3 in the first round?

55. . OT. Pittsburgh Steelers. Peter Skoronski. 7. player

The Pittsburgh Steelers lost a bad one to the Miami Dolphins in primetime this week, and it is a franchise that could see plenty of changes this offseason. The Steelers have never been under .500 under Mike Tomlin, but through the first few games of the season, that is looking like a real possibility.

Picking at No. 7 overall, the Steelers need to get some offensive line help for Kenny Pickett, their first-round quarterback from a year ago. Pickett should be able to be a solid starter at the NFL level, and Peter Skoronski can help him in his development by keeping him upright for the foreseeable future.

52. . DL. Jacksonville Jaguars. Jalen Carter. 8. player

The Jacksonville Jaguars have some work to do in terms of their roster, and the jury is still out as to how good Trevor Lawrence is going to be. The young quarterback has looked good at times, and then very bad at others, which is concerning for a franchise that took him with the No. 1 overall pick in 2021.

With pick No. 8, they are not going quarterback, and instead should shift the focus to the defensive side of the ball. Jalen Carter may be the best interior defensive lineman in this draft class, and after seeing the Jags against the run the last few weeks, they certainly need help there.
