3 QBs Giants need to draft to get out of Daniel Jones purgatory

Hendon Hooker, Tennessee
If the Giants decide that trading draft capital to move up into the top five (or earlier) to select Stroud or Young is not a viable move, they can always stand pat and take a quarterback that will be near their draft position. If they’re on the clock in the middle or end of the first-round, Tennessee’s Hendon Hooker will likely be available.
The senior quarterback is in his second season at Tennessee, and he is playing some unreal football. He can make some beautiful deep passes and run the ball to extend drives. Hooker helped lead the team to five wins against ranked opponents, including a formidable matchup against the Alabama Crimson Tide, handing Nick Saban’s team their first loss of the season. The Volunteers are undefeated as they remain the second-ranked team on the Week 10 AP Top 25. Not only that, but Hooker is a favorite to win the Heisman Trophy.
This season, Hooker completed 71.2 percent of his passes for 2,338 yards and 21 touchdowns, while throwing just one interception on the year…in the SEC. Hooker also ran for 338 yards and four touchdowns on 73 carries.
Hooker could be a great addition to the Giants offense, as he has the dual threat ability that Daboll likes in his quarterback. He has shown he should receive first-round consideration in the NFL Draft. Plus, the Giants will not have to move up too much to select him.
