Georgia Bulldogs fans reacted to seeing the team receive the No. 3 seed in the first College Football Playoff rankings.

Tuesday, Nov. 1 was a huge day for football, not just because of the NFL trade deadline. At 7:00 p.m. ET, the College Football Playoff committee unveiled their very first Top 25 rankings of the 2022 season.

The focus was on the top of the rankings, specifically how the four “playoff teams” would be ranked. There were some shocking decisions in the Top 25, including Michigan ranking in at No. 5. But perhaps the other stunning choice was the defending national champion Georgia Bulldogs receiving the No. 3 spot behind the Ohio State Buckeyes (No. 2) and the Tennessee Volunteers (No. 1).

Georgia fans went through all the emotions. From being stunned that the team wasn’t ranked first, to them being happy that they have bulletin board material heading into their huge game against Tennessee on Saturday.

The Bulldogs started off their season strong, blowing out the Oregon Ducks 49-3. But they did have some scares, the most prominent being their narrow 26-22 victory over the Missouri Tigers back on Oct. 1.

There is no denying that Tennessee has been on a roll this season, scoring five huge victories over ranked opponents, including a 52-49 thriller against the Alabama Crimson Tide.

The Bulldogs have the chance to prove the CFP committee wrong, as they host the Volunteers in Athens, Ga. on Saturday. A victory should certainly catapult them to the No. 1 spot in next week’s rankings.
