NBA teams already looking like they need a trade: Los Angeles Lakers

One could argue that no team needs a trade more than the Los Angeles Lakers. Personally, I would go as far as to say that the only untouchable player on this roster is LeBron James. Obviously, it’s very unlikely Anthony Davis would be traded, but you never know.

The Russell Westbrook slander has calmed down at least over the past few days since he has been playing better and showing flashes of the “old Westbrook.” But, both he and the Lakers need to part ways here. There have been moments caught on video where it is clear.

How could the Lakers look if they move Westbrook?

Lonnie Walker has been an excellent addition to this Lakers team and plays marvelously well alongside James. As a duo, James and Walker have a net rating of -4.5. In addition to that, alongside Davis, as a duo, Walker and Davis have a net rating of -9.1.

The trade that makes the most sense for the Lakers is Westbrook to the Pacers for Hield and Myles Turner. If the Lakers can find a way to sweeten the pot for the Pacers, this is a complicated trade that could be finally agreed upon.

The biggest task for the Lakers is finding a team who is willing to either buy out or take control of Westbrook’s expiring $47.1 million contract. Either way, it’s a move that needs to happen not now, but right now.
