2. Top Fantasy Football Pickups For Week 10 – Miami Dolphins RB Jeff Wilson

The backfield in Miami received a tremendous shakeup ahead of the trade deadline thanks to some interesting decisions by the Dolphins’ front office. Chase Edmonds, who was Miami’s big free agent pickup during the offseason, was traded to the Denver Broncos while Jeff Wilson was picked up in a separate deal from the San Francisco 49ers.

The deal made sense for both sides as Wilson was redundant following San Francisco’s addition of Christian McCaffrey while Miami could add Wilson to Raheem Mostert as backs that have tremendous familiarity with Mike McDaniel’s offense. The end result was a nearly 50-50 time split as Wilson and Mostert each received nine carries, with Wilson gaining 51 yards compared to just 26 for Mostert.

The Dolphins also tried to keep both backs equally involved in the passing game as Wilson snagged all three of his targets for 21 yards and a touchdown while Mostert couldn’t secure either of his two targets. The workload split fits with how McDaniel, a former 49ers assistant, likes to run his offense and should make both backs flex options going forward.

Wilson is rostered in just over half of Yahoo! leagues, making him a good speculative pickup for Week 10 for fantasy owners who have to go without Rhamondre Stevenson or Joe Mixon during their bye weeks. There should also be solid flex appeal for Wilson, who may earn more of the workload than Mostert based off his solid Week 9 performance.
