player. Scouting Report. Atlanta Braves. 4.. 17. Pick Analysis. NL. East

This would be the worst possible outcome from Mets fans. deGrom leaving in free agency and joining the Atlanta Braves? The very team that won a pivotal series at the end of the season to pry the NL East title away from the Mets?

Back in July, ESPN’s Buster Olney dropped a bombshell report that there was “perception in some corners of the industry” that if deGrom were to opt out, the Braves would be the favorites to sign him.

The Braves are a team that has their core set up and ready to contend for the World Series for the foreseeable future. Their front office, after all, has rushed the process to lock in their young stars to long-term contracts at relatively reasonable prices (i.e. outfielder Michael Harris II, starting pitcher Spencer Strider)  So, the Braves are in a position to target someone of deGrom’s caliber to help them in their World Series pursuit.

3.. 71. Pick Analysis. NL. West. Los Angeles Dodgers. player. Scouting Report

Shocker! The Los Angeles Dodgers in the running a top free agent? If you’re a baseball fan, you know that the Dodgers are always going to be in on the best players available on the open market. That was evidenced last year when they signed Freddie Freeman.

The Dodgers fell short of their goal of winning the World Series, despite the fact that they won a league-best 111 regular-season games. This offseason, they obviously have to worry about the team potentially losing shortstop Trea Turner to a team that gives him a monster contract. However, the Dodgers have to address the starting rotation, as it is entirely possible that Clayton Kershaw plays elsewhere.

Replacing Kershaw with deGrom would be quite the move for Los Angeles.
