Ohio State wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba fends off Utah cornerback Micah Bernard as he races to the end zone for a touchdown during the second quarter of the 2022 Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif.2022-08-23-smith-njigba /

2. WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Ohio State

Last season, Smith-Njigba was the best wide receiver in the nation. He had 95 receptions for 1,606 yards and nine touchdowns. The Buckeye shined against top-level competition, as he eclipsed 100 yards against four different ranked opponents (No. 12 Oregon, No. 19 Purdue, No. 7 Michigan State, No. 5 Michigan).

In the Rose Bowl, he had an all-time great performance with 15 receptions for 347 receiving yards and three touchdowns. His 347 receiving yards broke the FBS bowl record for receiving yards in a single game.

Entering this season, Smith-Njiba looked like a lock to be a top-five pick. However, injuries have kept him off the field. He has appeared in only three games recording five receptions for 43 yards. As a result, his draft stock is slightly murkier. Chris Tapasso of CBS Sports projected him to be selected with the 15th overall pick in his latest mock draft.

If Smith-Njiba does, in fact, slide down the draft board, he would be an excellent addition for the Packers. He would give them a dynamic playmaker, who could rack up yards after the catch.
