Clemson Tigers fans are not happy about the fact that the team ranks behind the two-loss Alabama Crimson Tide in the latest College Football Playoff rankings.

The Clemson Tigers watched as they tumbled down from the No. 4 spot to tenth spot last week after their loss to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, their first of the season. This past Saturday, Clemson got back into the win column, defeating the Louisville Cardinals 31-16, improving their record to 9-1.

Would that be enough for them to move up the rankings? The answer to that question is yes.

In the latest College Football Playoff rankings on Tuesday, the Tigers rose to the No. 9 spot in the rankings. Being placed just ahead of them are the two-loss Alabama Crimson Tide.

Some fans were not exactly pleased with the fact that Clemson was still ranked behind Alabama.

While Clemson cruised to a victory over Louisville, the Crimson Tide faced off against a one-loss Ole Miss Rebels team. In fact, they overcame a 24-17 deficit in the third quarter to defeat them 30-24. The Rebels were close to potentially winning the game, but they stalled out when reaching the red zone.

Alabama played a total of three ranked teams so far this season, and they defeated all of them (Wake Forest, North Carolina State, and Syracuse). As for Alabama, they played five ranked teams and won three. They defeated Arkansas, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss, but they lost to Tennessee 52-49 and LSU 32-31 in overtime.

There is a shot that Clemson could make it into the College Football Playoff, as they have already clinched a spot in the ACC Championship Game, where they will take on the No. 13 North Carolina Tar Heels. The final two weeks of the regular season and the Conference Championship weekend could make for some true chaos.

While the No. 9 ranking is not exactly what Clemson fans were hoping for, they still have a chance at the Playoff depending on how the rest of the season goes.
